RAID's Year in Review

RAID has enjoyed another great year, connecting, engaging and supporting early to mid-career researchers involved in agricultural research for international development. Formal membership has grown to 384 people (an increase of 79% since last year), with many more people engaged through various social media platforms (e.g. 386 members of the Facebook Group, 726 likes of the Facebook Page, 310 followers on Twitter). RAID and the Crawford Fund Join Forces

RAID Video Competition

Firstly I would like to thanks and congratulate those that submitted their videos. Bonnie and I had a great time watching them. It was definitely a tough call to decide the best video as they were all so interesting. We were able get it down to three but couldn’t narrow it down any further. As you may all be aware we decided to open the voting to the public (via our new swanky YouTube page) to help the decision process. After a week of voting the verdict is in. RAID Video Competition

Recently RAID hosted a video communications workshop for its members to build their knowledge and skills in producing engaging and impacting videos. The workshop participants were asked to produce a video following the workshop relating to their work in agriculture. A prize is on offer for the participant who produces the most engaging video. RAID gets communicating using video

Over 25 RAIDers from around Australia have participanted in a workshop on using videos to help communicate their research. Richard Snashall took us on a trip through pre-production, filming and post-production and ways we can use these videos to promote our work. With the help of a few gadgets, some hands on experience and a selfie stick (see picture below), Richard ran a very engaging workshop which was a whole lot of fun.
